The 318 truck engine enjoyed the benefit of hi-comp closed chamber, big inlet valve non emission heads, when the car 318 engines from around 1970 on all got big chamber low compression emission heads. The truck engines because the emission requirements did not apply to them continued to use the small chamber heads had bigger inlet valves & stellitte hardened exhaust seats, they also used a water cooled intake and therefore did not have an exhaust crossover cast in. It is reputed that edelbrock used the late 60's mopar closed chamber truck head combustion chamber as a template for their aluminium aftermarket heads. The difference is these use the small port 318 ports so they will be great for high port velocity at lower rpms giving enhanced low end torque on street cars whereas eddies used the 360 ports for higher flow velocities at higher rpms.
These heads for sale are rebuilt heads that are ready to be bolted on that have synchro seated valves, good valve guides, a lite bowl cleanup porting job. The chamber volume is 64-65cc and so a bolt on a stock 318 car engine will lift the CR from the low 8's to mid 9's CR.
Being truck heads they use the big truck spark plug and the intake gaskets will need to use the gasket that blocks the crossover passage if you use a car stock emission EGR style intake. They have sat for a few years on the shelf since rebuild and were hot tanked when rebuilt so the cast iron now has a light patina. They are straight, flat and no cracks and the stem seals have been just replaced.
I have been fiddling with aussie valiants for years and I have saved these for a future 318 project but now I realise I will likely never use them.

My price is below what it would cost to have you worn out old car heads rebuilt.
