I bought my 1966vc v8 valiant 14 yrs ago off my oldest brother & started restoring it straight away.I saw potential for the car and it had been in the family since 1970. So I worked on a panel at a time and primed it & then let it sit for a while, before blocking the panel back again and reprimng it.blah, blah, blah blah....cut a very long story short,4.5yrs out of a total 14 yrs owning the Val I finally finished her.I got it on the road just In time for Chryslers on the Murray In 2007 and boy did I enjoy that.4 weeks later and one week before a Street Machine photo shoot-Sum Dickwand decided to use my Valiant for stopping their FWD4x4 instead of using his breaks at a roundabout.I was rear ended(it was a Virgin up untill then)Any way it was off the road again for another 10 months.Letting the filler, primer shrink so there is no visible signs of it ever being in an accident. All is well now since late November 2007.I just love cruising in my val.

Purchased by my father in the early 70s.It was still brand new back then(original vc v8).He owned it for about 13-14 yrs. Then it was my oldest brothers turn to own it from about 1982.He had for around about 14 yrs as well. Then it was my turn,I bought the val off my brother in 1994.(the youngest brother out of 4 in the family)I saw that it had potential & the body was in fair condition.I was a 2nd yr apprentice spraypainter at the time and I thought to myself why not restore the val to its original glory. The original colour was Alabaster. And out of 15 yrs of owning the val its had a 4.5 yr restoration, blowing my 15k bugdet and driving it to as many chrysler shows as possible. Its cheap to run coz its on straight gas, even for a v8 318 its pretty good.Im glad to boast it only costs me $70 to Albury & back (Melbourne) for the annual Chryslers on the Murray.Just love driving the Val.
