Dear Australia: after sending you thousands of Mustangs and Camaros and 'Cudas, we have decided to take one of yours back. This straight and solid VH 770 with original 318/904TF was bought out of Sydney with all transactions completed over the internet. It departed in a 40-ft sea container aboard the ANL Emblem V19 on July, 12, 2005, and cleared US customs on August 18, 2005. It now resides in my garage in the LA suburb of Torrance, California. Rego is a non-issue in the People's Republic of California as the car's age exempts it from both import and emissions restrictions. In the local shows it has been to, the Charger leaves Mopar guys speechless with wonder. It has Ferrari owners running over to enquire. It will pull the crowd away from a line of Lamborghinis. It makes the legions of ex-pat Aussies and Kiwis go catatonic with high school memories. Future: 318 rebuild with better carb and exhaust, front-end work to tighten her up a bit, bare metal re-spray in original color. Needed: original 318 air cleaner housing.
