I got this Charger in 2000 as a bare shell on axle stands for $600. Its my 7th Charger most of the others have been rusty wrecks that i never paid more than $300 for. This one was origonally a VH Charger XL, the guy i got it off was going to turn it into a hill climb racer. It took me 8 days to strip it back with an oribital sander hooked up to 2 supercheap auto $99 air compressors! Over 400 hours in the bodywork alone, i have receipts! December 06 it was given a bare metal respray in 2pac BA falcon Lightning Strike silver with black metalic with red pearl painted stripes (which took 12 hours to do each side, very tricky those stencil kits!) and a black metalic bonnet with red pearl, followed by 5 coats of spies hecker clear. The Paint was laid on by my brother in law SHANE MURPHY, from Harris Smash Repairs in Ararat. He has done an awesome job, and is one of the top 4 painters in Aus. It has a rebuilt 265 hemi, heads ported polished and set up for unleaded, a mild crow cam, 625 Performance Carter carbie, a modified electronic distributor and MOPAR orange ECU, rebuilt 4 spd box and lsd diff with 3.45 gears. Wheels are Show wheels streeters 17x7 and 17x8s with 255 rubber under the bum, brakes are slotted rotors with VJ calipers and CM 11" drums on rear. The trim is all new in black. It won the promotors choice award at the 2008 Chryslers by the bay, not bad for its first show. This a total nut and bolt rebuild everything that could come off has. Its been a hugh project and i reckon i'll do a hot rod next! This car was the bridal car for our wedding. I'd never driven a Charger on the road until this one, it was always in the backyard at mum and dads!
