VH,VJ & VK Chargers
Vj E55, original 340 purchased from the original owner a Chrysler engineer
while I was working in a car yard (Purnell Bros Bankstown then largest
chrysler dealer ) , brown with a VK sports stripe purchased for $1499 ( yes
less than $1500 in 1980, then sold in 1984 with 1 weeks rego for $2400 a
good price at the time )

Vh XL 265 3 speed manual floor change, fitted with 500 holley and
extractors, very easy and fast car - purchased out of rego for only$150 it
needed radiator startor and altenator and battery paid @ $80-$90 for the
lot and passed rego first time, the car was originally purple but was
resprayed a Holden colour Mandarin red ( i wanted hemo orange but the spray
painter was a holden man plus he gave me the paint for free as it was a
cancelled job ) all up the car cost @ $800 with rego, i drove it for 2
years then sold it in 1986

VK 770 265 bw35, this was bought when my 2 year old magna was written off by
a driver on the wrong side of the road, i could not wait for insurance
settkement, so with loans from friends and the trading post i found the dest
value for dollars again being a valiant.
this was in 1991 and it was rust free ( bottom rear quarters freshly
puttied ) , the engine smoked over say 85 mph and the auto needed a major
service, but the front end was new and it only needed the auto choke to be
replaced. It ran for 3 years with only a tune and a set of tyres. Paid
$1800 , recieved $2000 trade on a glamor XD falcon ( that rusted out in 2
years and was scrapped )

Now I am looking for a replacement as my son will get his L's in Dec 2002 so
its time to start looking

Carpenter
This is my 1962 Chrysler Valiant S Series (sv1 -4-4477). I saved her from a life of "living under the backyard Tree syndrome. This is what she looks like after a real good cleaning - the car was basically Yellow when i purchased it, and every crevace was caked with dirt and mud, and the engine bay looked like someone took a black spray can too it.It has the Factory Heater Demister unit which is more of a anoyance than anything, it sounds like a rocket taking off and demisting is one thing it rarley does well.
Engine and brakes were the first things i treated, the interior is immaculate - aside from some plastic chroming that needs to be done, but hopefully soon a bare metal re-spray and 2 pac will make my S -series look stuning. What colour yet i dont know, but i am thinking white, merley for its simplicity and the fact that white is easy to maintain. No modifications will occur, completley stock standard is the approach i am heading.Maybe a 1 inch drop also.It is by far the best death trap on wheels i have ever owned. But with the new drums and master cylinder re-furbished,and new tyres, i can know feel safe driving her again.

1970 VG VIP CHRYSLER
THE WOMBATS 1970 VG VIP CHRYSLER

Our chrysler is called (PANDAMONIUM) as it means where all evil spirits live & also means trouble. It bites everyone who works on it, including us.

It has a 318 Fireball motor bored .020 thou, with s/s valves, dodge steel crank, stage 3 gas cam, 425 impco gas carb, with 600 holley base, light machine work on the heads and painted hemi red with black rocker covers. It runs a 904 torque flite auto with standard stall converter.

The wheels are ROH Performance 14 x 7 mags, with 215/60 R14 on back & 205/60 R14 on the front.

Inside the car it's covered in Black, Buffalo Grain and seats 6, the only mod in the car is a cd player, the outside is Artic white with Black stripes and a Black vinyl roof.

We drive our car to Albury every year, and also take it to Summernats. We have taken the car to Darling Harbour this year and we also goto Berrima in September every year with C.A.V.O.A. from Sydney.

Regards

Wombat

Hot mustard 2Bbl R/T Charger
I thought it was about time to submit a photo of my vehicle. It's a hot
mustard 2-bbl R/T with the original 265. I've swapped the three-speed for a
four-speed, and it runs a 350 holley, extractors, twin system, E38 profile
cam and Romac timing gears and chain. The only other modification is the
installation of an extra heavy duty anti-sway bar up front and dubious
reproduction adjustable rear spring hangers.
